Clarion Rotary Radio Auction Set for March 2nd on C93 FM-WWCH 1300 AM -94.1 FM

The Clarion Rotary Club’S annual Rotary Radio Auction will be on Saturday, March 2, 2019 from 8:30am to 3:30pm.  The club is now collecting new goods and services from local business and community members for the auction.  All proceeds go to local Rotary projects and scholarships.  If you or your business would like to make a donation please call any Rotary Member or Bill Hearst at 221-9708.

What Does Clarion Rotary Do?               

Rotary is a service organization dedicated to providing volunteer service to our community. A wide variety of service projects ranging from youth leadership and scholarships, to community improvement are undertaken each year.  100% of the auction proceeds are used to support Clarion County. Some of the past local projects and recipients of Rotary support include:

 

$2,000 annual Scholarship (Amy Davis Scholarship) awarded to two outstanding Clarion County graduates who have demonstrated leadership through academics and service.

 

$1,000 annual Clarion University Scholarship available to graduating seniors who are attending Clarion University and have demonstrated leadership in academics and service.

 

$1000 annual Clarion Career Center Scholarship (Tom Burkhardt Scholarship) in recognition of an outstanding vocational student.

 

$1,000 annual Trueman Mills RYLA Scholarship awarded to a RYLA graduate who has shown a commitment to service and leadership.

 

$750 High School Youth Scholarships for 10 students to World Affairs Conference in Pittsburgh Convention Center

 

$4,500 for 12 students to attend Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) during summer:

Local high school students attend a week long leadership camp at Westminster College to             gain important leadership skills.

 

$1,000 for 10 students to attend Rotary Outstanding Vocational Award (ROVA):

Local high school vocational students attend a leadership camp with other vocational students from around northwestern PA

 

Clarion County YMCA: financial support for the construction of a new YMCA facility in Clarion County.

 

Shadow Day for area High School students: students spend a day with local business leaders in their respective businesses to help the students understand career choices available to them

 

Rotary International Exchange Student Program (Inbound and Outbound)

 

Cook Forest Sawmill Theater: annual hands on renovations to prepare the Theater for the upcoming summer program

 

Clarion Hospital: financial support for Cancer Center, Pediatric Playroom

 

Clarion Library: Card Catalogs, Computer System, Endowment
