Ronald F. Wolbert, Sr.
Ronald Francis Wolbert, Sr., 66, of Shippenville, passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at the Clarion Hospital.
He was born on October 30, 1951 in Crown, Clarion County, to the late Donald Joseph and Vera “Betty” (Lutz) Wolbert. He was the 5th of 12 children. In 1972, he married the former Susan Morris, who survives. Together, they enjoyed 46 years of happy marriage, raising two children, a son and a daughter.
Ron was an over-the-road truck driver for 38 years and was known by “Reo” to all his truck driving friends. He loved being a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Ron enjoyed having his children, grandchildren and great-grandson come to visit and share meals with him. He also loved taking his long walks with his best friend, his dog Chloe.
Ron was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish in Clarion, PA, where he was an usher and greeter for several years. He was a loyal member of the Knights of Columbus Council 7549 and Assembly 982. Ron enjoyed discussing religion with his many Catholic friends.
He is survived by his wife, Susan; his son, Ronald Francis Wolbert, Jr. and wife Kimberly; his grandchildren, Zachary Wolbert, Kaili Wolbert, Cole Wolbert, Shelby Dehner, Ally Dehner and Lawrence Dehner, Jr.; and his great-grandson, Taven Neal. In addition he is survived by four brothers, Dennis (Celia) Lutz, of Wichita, Kansas, Donald J. (Patricia) Wolbert, II, of Tionesta, Gary “Pete” (Donna) Wolbert, of Crown, and Michael (Jana) Wolbert, of Crown; and seven sisters, Linda (Dan) Siegel of Tylersburg, Darlene (Gilbert) Wolbert, of Lucinda, Lori Wolbert of Tionesta, Anita (Rob Burgoyone) Wolbert of Clarion, Rita (Bob) Mellon, of Pittsburgh, Rosey (Paul) Weaver, of Clarion, and Amy (Gary) Glass, of Venus.
Also surviving are a brother-in-law, Paul Morris, of Rimersburg; and three sisters-in-law, Louemma Porter of Penn, Mary Carly, of Hermitage, and Catherine Watt of Knox, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Michell Marie Wolbert Dehner Kunselman.
Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory in Clarion. Visitation will be held from 10-11a.m. on Friday at Immaculate Conception Church, 715 Main Street, Clarion. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Father Monty Sayers, pastor of Immaculate Conception presiding.
