Two people died Thursday morning as the result of a three-vehicle crash on Route 157 in Cranberry Township.
State Police officials tell 96.3 KQW the chain-reaction started when a vehicle driven by 23 year-old Michael Falla, from Dover, Delaware, slammed into the rear of a school van and then spun into the opposite lane of travel where it was struck in the driver’s side by an oncoming S-U-V.
The school van had been stopped to make a left turn.
Falla and his passenger, 31 year-old Bryant Atwell from Kennerdell, were both pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the S-U-V, 39 year-old Christina Colhepp from Tionesta, was treated for apparent minor injuries at UPMC Northwest in Cranberry. Neither the operator of the school van, 55 year-old Julie Sollinger from Cranberry, nor her lone passenger – a 17 year-old girl from Oil City – was injured.
The crash occurred shortly before 7:00 AM Thursday, and Route 157 was closed until early afternoon
