Shippenville Man Accidentally Shot; Is Hospitalized in Pittsburgh

A Shippenville man was airlifted to a Pittsburgh hospital on Saturday night after he was accidentally shot by a handgun.

The injuries sustained by 23 year-old Chris Best are not believed to be life-threatening.

State Police officials say the incident occurred at a location on St. Mark’s Road in Ashland Township, but they did not give details, including whether the injuries were self-inflicted or whether someone else was holding the gun.

The incident occurred shortly after 11:00 PM Saturday, and the investigation into the shooting continues.
