Annual EEO Public File Report

 

WWCH/WCCR Radio, 1168 Greenville Pike, Clarion PA, 16214 Employment Unit, has less then five full time employees.

 

The purpose of the EEO Public File Report (“Report”) is to comply with Section 73.2080(c) (6) of the FCC’s EEO Rule.  This Report has been prepared on behalf of the Station Employment Unit that is comprised of the following radio stations:  WWCH-AM and WCCR-FM, both licensed to Clarion, PA and is required to be placed public inspection files of the stations and posted on their website.  The information contained in this report covers the time period beginning March 31, 2016 to and including April 1, 2017.  The FCC’s EEO Rule requires that this report contain the following information.

 

  1. A list of all full-time vacancies filled by WWCH/WCCR comprising the Station Employment Unit during the Applicable Period.
  2. For each such vacancy, the recruitment sources utilized to fill the vacancy (including, if applicable, organizations entitled to notification pursuant to Section 73.2080(c)(1)(ii) of the FCC’s EEO Rule, which should be separately identified) identified by name, address, contact person and telephone number.
  3. The recruitment source that referred the hire for each full-time vacancy during the Applicable Period;
  4. Data reflecting the total number of persons interviewed for full-time vacancies during the Applicable Period and the total number of interviewees referred by each recruitment source utilized in connection with such vacancies; and
  5. A list and brief description of the initiatives undertaken pursuant to Section 73.2080(c) (2 of the FCC Rules.

 

Appendices 1 -5 which follow have been designed, in the aggregate, to provide the required information.

EEO Initiatives

 

WWCH/WCCR Radio has been involved with the following EEO initiatives during the above EEO Report time period:

 

William S. Hearst, WWCH/WCCR Radio, general manager participated in the 2016 Clarion County Job Fair, on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at the Clarion Mall.  WWCH/WCCR Radio was a major sponsor of the day- long event that featured 40 employers.

 

WWCH/WCCR

Two students from West Forest School spent a job shadow day each, on September 24 and 25, 2016.

 

WWCH/WCCR hosted students from the Clarion University Office of Minority Affairs, on February 7, 2017 . The students toured the stations and recorded a series of Black History Month PSA’s which aired on the stations.

 

 

WWCH/WCCR Radio established an internship program designed to assist members of the community to azure skills needed for broadcast employment. The program includes training in each job department at the radio station; on-air programming, announcing, sales, copy writing and traffic and billing.

Interns who participated: Clarion University Student from May, 23, 2016 to June30, 2016.

 

 

WWCH/WCCR Radio established three in-house training programs designed to enable station personnel to acquire skills that could qualify them for higher level positions: a sales program, a radio automation program though the Wide Orbit Company and a billing and traffic program through Nat-Soft Company.
