Marian H. Thompson
Marian Helen Thompson, former Clarion County resident, passed away of natural causes at her home in Tidioute on April 5, 2018. She was 72 years of age.
Born on January 13, 1946 in Lucinda, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Evelyn (Johnston) Thompson. She was married to James Horwedel and he preceded her in death in 2009. They had been together for more than 40 years. She worked for the Blair / New Process / Orchard Brand companies at various times throughout her life.
She enjoyed shopping, gardening, and taking time to spend with her family, especially her grand-daughter Avery.
She is survived by her children, sons; Michael Thompson, of Cambridge MD, James Horwedel, of Tidioute; and daughters, Jill O’Connor (Sean), of Wattsburg, and Sarah Rhoades (Chase), of Kutztown; along with her grand-daughter Avery O’Connor. In addition, she is survived by her brothers, Roger Thompson and Vern Thompson, both of Lucinda; and sisters, Susan Kelsch (Joseph), of Pittsburgh, Cindy Thompson, of Bonaire GA, and Kathleen Hansen, of Lucinda.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Theresa Maxwell; an infant brother Patrick; and a great-niece, Lily Krajewski.
Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory, 330 Wood Street in Clarion where visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Tuesday. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Scotch Hill Cemetery.
