Leanore Elizabeth Kahle
Leanore (Lee) Elizabeth Kahle, 88 years young of Brook Road, Clarion, died Friday, June 30, 2017 following a brief illness.
Born April 22, 1929, Lee was the daughter of Iva Kristine and Thomas Orley Williams. She attended the Mount Joy one room school near Knox, PA and graduated from the Knox High School. As a young adult, Lee was employed at Purinton Pottery in Shippenville PA. Later, Lee attended a beauty academy in Titusville. While her children were very young, she operated a beauty salon in her home. Lee later worked at the Owens Illinois Glass Factory for a short time.
On February 17, 1956 Lee was married to Gerald Calvin Kahle. They were married for 43 years.
Surviving are their two daughters. Kimberly Ferris (Roy) and Joni Leadbetter (Terry), and four grandchildren, Gavin Ferris and his wife Nadya of Newark, DE, Jesse Ferris and his friend Kali McLaughlin of New Bethlehem, Chase Leadbetter and his wife Brittney of Mayport, and Megan Leadbetter Laird and her husband, Deven, of Frogtown.
She truly delighted in her great- grandchildren, Madison Leigh and Mia Lynn Laird, Marilla Lee Ferris, and Barrett Chase Leadbetter. Lee is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Lee enjoyed mowing her lawn and tending her flower gardens. She was an avid fan of Pittsburgh Pirate baseball. She was fiercely independent and will be remembered for her sense of humor and love for family and friends.
Lee was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and her sister, Mary Ailenne Fye of Knox.
Friends may call at the Goble Funeral Home, 330 Wood Street, in Clarion on Thursday, July 6, 2017 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday July 7th at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Doug Henry officiating.
Burial will be in the Leatherwood Cemetery.
